It was a Wednesday night when Jack was climbing into bed, notebook spread across his legs as he went over the material for History that he was supposed to be on the test the next day.
"I know it’s stupid, but when I look up at it, I think of you,” Alex said, voice cracking a little as he spoke. Jack didn’t know what to say, he was kind of starting to choke up a little when Alex whispered, “I miss you, Jack.”

Over the course of the next few weeks, things started to get better. Kyle and Caleb hooked up, and with that came pretty much attaching themselves at the hip.
On Valentine's day, Kyle got the biggest box of chocolates he'd ever seen from the aforementioned senior, and he and Jack decided to eat the entire thing that night after finishing off a blunt.
It wasn't often that Jack did drugs, but when he did, he made sure to take someone else's drug virginity with him...and eat about 3000 calories worth of chocolate.
As soon as he felt like it, he took Alex's car from the lot it had been parked in and drove it to the barge. He paid them from Alex's account and they told him the teacher would be notified.
Alex still hadn't called him, not even to see how things were going or check in, and Jack figured that he'd probably moved on - probably found life over there to be a lot better than where Jack was, so he let it go.
Delilah was growing, about half the size she'd be full grown, Jack decided he'd take a bunch of pictures of her all around the house and make an album of them called Delilah's Book, and he kept it at his bedside.
One Saturday he was walking her to the pharmacy on Broadway to get his one hour photos when he saw Zack with a bag of groceries in his hands, struggling to hold them as he went to his car.
Zack saw him too, and Jack thought he'd try to hide, but he didn't. Instead, he just looked at Jack fairly blankly, nodding and giving him the smallest smile when he'd asked if he could help with the bag.
Zack's face lit up when he saw the puppy, and he leaned down to pet her.
"Hi, baby," he cooed to her as Jack got his groceries in the back seat of his beat up Toyota.
"Delilah,” Jack said and her ears perked up. “Say hi.”
She barked up at Zack excitedly and that made him laugh.
“So, what have you been doing?” Zack asked, standing up to Jack’s height as he shut the creaky door. The air was cool around them, making their breath visible in the air.
“Not a whole lot,” Jack admitted, glancing down to his dog and smiling a little when she was glancing up at him too.
“I see you’re pretty good friends with that Kyle boy,” Zack noted.
Jack nodded in agreement. “Yeah, I hooked him up with Caleb Turman from our class.”
Zack gave him a genuine smile. “That was awfully nice of you. Have you talked to Rian much?”
Jack sniffled, his nose running from the cold he’d been trying to get over. The cool temperature wasn’t helping. “Not much, no. He’s been pretty busy with his football stuff.”
“Yeah, I only get to talk to him on weekends,” Zack agreed, not really knowing what else to say.
Jack offered him a goofy, half-smile, taking a chance. “You wanna come over and play video games? I got Skyrim.”
Zack seemed to consider it for a second, which Jack didn’t find unusual; he had really hurt the boy previously.
“Yeah, as long as you go easy on me.”

For all of you that are disappointed in this, I have good news.
THERE IS AN EPILOGUE.
So look forward to it ;3
Also, you HAVE to leave me a comment. Seriously, I just wrote you a 46 chapter story, the least you can do is give me feed back ♥

Depressed couldn't even begin to describe what he was feeling. Not even close. It didn't even scratch the surface of what he could see building on the inside of him; like the walls of his ribcage where lined with a thick black tar that made it hard to breathe.
His mom had tried to talk to him a few times, but every time he'd look up at her to answer, she'd get this look on her face like she was scared of him, scared of the dark circles under his eyes from not even getting a wink of sleep for the past three days.
He'd stayed home from school without question, just sulking around in the basement, only getting out of his bed when he needed to use the bathroom, or the couple times he'd went upstairs to let his dog out or eat, but other than that, Delilah stayed by his side constantly. He guessed he had some higher power to thank for designing her so she could tell he was fucked up. He suspected a few times that maybe she was a human girl trapped in a dog's body, but not a hot girl, because they don't have feelings, and would never stick by his side through this. No, Delilah was a comic-loving, glasses-wearing, not-hot-but-cute girl trapped in the spotted pelt of a Dalmatian, and he was grateful for that. He only wished he could discuss things with her and have her answer more than just a bark or two.
The following Monday morning at five am, he decided it was a good idea to shower, because he was starting to smell like death itself, so he turned the water on, as hot as it would go and got into the shower.
As cliché and emo as he thought it sounded, it felt good to know that his body was still working; that the hot water still hurt like a bitch on her cycle and the he could still feel it.
Though feeling anything was the last thing he wanted to do, if you asked him.
He went back to school that day and was almost instantly met with a worried Kyle. As much as Jack loved him, he wouldn't shut up.
‘Jack, where were you’, ‘Jack, are you okay’. ‘Jack, what happened to Alex?’
It didn't take long for Jack to become legitimately annoyed with the boy.
"Can we just talk about something else?" Jack asked at lunch. They were sitting alone at their own table, Rian and his friends absent for some reason.
Jack guessed that Kyle could see the desperation in his eyes by the way that things instantly got uncomfortable and tense.
"I guess," Kyle said quietly, taking a bit into his sandwich that he'd packed. "I had a pretty great time at that party after you left."
Jack looked up at him, only half listening but he was grateful to the boy for trying.
Kyle waited for him to say something but kept going awkwardly. "Yeah, uhm. I actually went out with Caleb again last night."
"Oh yeah?" Jack said, pushing around a few cornels of corn that were laying on his plate.
"Yeah," Kyle answered, bright blue eyes lighting up at Jack giving even the smallest amount of interest into the conversation. "I think he likes me. He's actually not just a total air head like you'd think; there's something under that red hair."
"Yeah, he's pretty cool," Jack agreed lightly, taking a bite of the chicken salad he had on his plate and not really tasting it.
"He's really cool. You've done something amazing by putting us together," Kyle teased, but he didn't get a response. So he did the only thing he knew how, he reached out and placed a cool hand under Jack's chin, just the finger tips. Jack gave him a confused frown for a second, but Kyle didn't seem to care, he stood up in the lunchroom, keeping the hand under Jack's chin and walked over to his side of the table, sitting next to the older.
"It's okay, Jack. I don't know what happened, but it's going to be okay," he assured, keeping Jack's eyes as he leaned in, resting his head on the senior's shoulder.
Jack nodded a little, honestly appreciating what Kyle was doing - comforting him - even though people were kind of starting to notice them. Jack just shot anyone staring at them a glare, wrapping his arm around the platinum blonde's waist.
"Maybe we can skip the rest of the day and get coffee," Kyle suggested, blue eyes flicking up at Jack, grinning up at him. Jack laughed a little, for the first time in days and nodded.
"Look at you skipping class," Jack complimented, giving him back a smirk. "A regular bad ass."
They skipped the rest of their classes, finding warmth from the outside in the coffee shop on Broadway.
Kyle bought them both a hot beverage and they talked. Jack told him everything that was wrong and right, and he found that it was easier to talk to Kyle than he'd suspected. Maybe it was because the boy was just such a good listener - talking when he needed to and nodding at the right times to let Jack know he was taking in what was said.
"So just like that," Jack said, letting out a long breath. "He just left."
Kyle's blue eyes looked sad, like he was feeling for Jack. "I'm really sorry," Kyle said, turning his head to the side and seeing the barista staring at them with watchful eyes.
Kyle frowned, because the second he met eyes with the employee, he adverted his dark brown eyes, his chestnut colored fringe coming over his face.
"Jack," Kyle whispered, scowling a little. "That guy is listening to us."
Jack's eyes opened wide, and he cringed a little, instantly thinking it was Oli. He whipped his head around so fast that he thought he was going to give himself whip lash. He was relieved as fuck to see this tall, lanky man staring back at them with wide eyes.
"Erm, William, I'm William," he stumbled quietly, ringing the rag he had in his hands into the bucket at his feet. He was wiping the table adjacent to them, listening in when he was caught.
"Hi, William," Kyle said gently, giving him a curious look. "Can we help you?"
The man - William - gave them a little shrug as he leaned onto the table. "Well, you were talking about Alex Gaskarth, right?"
Jack scowled hard, obviously sceptical. "What about him?" he snapped and William shook his head.
"It's just that I know him," William informed, staring down at the wet floor below him like he was scared to meet Jack's eyes. He was obviously upset by what he was remembering, his pale face contorting into a hard frown. "And if you helped him get away from where he was," William paused, pursing his lips as he finally looked up at the dark haired boy in front of him. "Then you're pretty much a hero in my book."
-
Jack spent the rest of the night chewing on that.
At first he would shake his head and laugh about it - about what that man had said.
Fucking hero. Right. All I did was get him a plane ticket and he did the rest of the work.
But then he thought about it a little more, thought about letting Alex go. It wasn't like he picked the man up and put him on the plane himself saying, "Go, my child, be free of your bonds!" or anything, but one thing that Jack did do that he never thought he could was let the man go.
Maybe he didn't drive Alex to the airport, but he did have the strength to let Alex walk out that door. His eyes shot to the front door from where he was sitting on the couch, the TV playing quietly. Letting Alex go was the hardest thing he'd had to do up until that point in his life.
No denying or hiding.

That night, Jack dreamt of Alex.
In his sleep, he could picture the man getting onto that plane the next day and just packing up - packing up and going like his life was so disposable, like he could just throw it all away, and Jack woke up at six am in a cold sweat.
His eyes popped open wide, staring up at the ceiling and seeing a fan and a chandelier instead of a Blink 182 poster. It wasn't his room, that was for sure, and it took his a second to realize that he had been sleeping on the living room couch all night. After a second more of evaluation he'd come to terms with the fact that he couldn't remember how he'd gotten there, but Delilah was waiting by the front door, whining a little.
He rolled his eyes, sitting up and rubbing at his head. The sun was just starting to come over the trees in the horizon, bathing the earth in a milky light. He allowed himself to break the complete silence by sighing deeply, breathing in crisp air and letting out sleep. He stood, grabbing her leash on the coat rack and hooking her up to it. She gave his hand an excited kiss, and this time it didn't even make him smile, he just gave her kind of a grave look as if she could tell.
There was only one thing on his mind, and it wasn't the scene through the trees on his lawn that he was looking at; it was that brown-eyed boy up the stairs, probably still sleeping like he didn't really have a care about anything. Jack didn't want to admit it – never was one to do that – but he was getting that feeling in his gut, that sick twist and pull. That hot coiling like he was going to be sick.
He didn't want Alex to go, simple as that.
He'd been acting okay with it, like maybe if he pretended, it would all go away, but it wasn't going away. In just a few short hours, he'd take Alex to the airport and probably wouldn't see him again, and it made him want to throw up, literally get sick if it meant getting rid of that feeling in his core.
He looked down into the grass as the puppy did her business, seeing the little drops of dew on the thick grass that their gardener took such good care of, and that's kind of what he felt like, he figured. He felt like a little drop of water on a nice, big lawn; unimportant and recyclable.
He whistled to his pup from where she was, sniffing a spot where there was still some snow on the lawn. Her ears perked and she pranced over to him, sitting her butt onto the grass and looking up at him with a cocked head. Sometimes, Jack could swear she knew something was wrong. He picked her up, wiping off her little feet with a dirty towel when they got into the house.
"God," he whispered, shaking his head. "What is wrong with you?"
And that's what it had come to; talking to himself.
"Jack," Alex said, standing on the bottom stair. Jack didn't look at him, didn't need to, to know whom it was. He sat on the cough, and clutching a mug in his hands, Alex did the same. "Are you alright?"
Jack turned to him then, going to say something but jaw dropping open as he took in the man's different appearance.
His shaggy caramel hair had been shorn a little bit, only enough to make it noticeable, and he'd died it a burgundy color; not red, brown or purple, but a mix of all three. The changes had aged him considerably, taking his teenage looks to a more "grown up child" kind of deal. Whatever he was going for had worked, because Jack was pretty much speechless because of it.
"What do you think?" Alex asked, chuckling a little as he reached up to run a hand through it. He looked unsure - but proud - of it.
"When did you do this?" Jack asked, not really sure what to say.
"I got dye yesterday at the store and I used your scissors," he answered, chocolate eyes darting to the kitchen. "Do you like it?" he tried again.
Jack nodded, leaning in and pressing their foreheads together. He was still tired, and it felt good to just close his eyes a bit, the steam from Alex's coffee rising and hitting his chin.
"I couldn't sleep last night," Alex said, letting out a little breath. "Excited."
Jack opened his eyes, grimacing as he was met with a big grin.
"Lex," he whispered, not really a question, but more of a confirmation that he was still there. Alex nodded against him.
"Hm?"
"I don't want you to go," he admitted, face blushing a brighter red color. He was trying to hold back that feeling in his gut, but all hope of that was lost when Alex answered with a, "Me either."
It was a while before he spoke again. "But it'll be nice to see my parents again, I haven't seen them in a long while."
Jack's brow furrowed then, dark eye brows knitting together in a bit of anger. He pulled away from the elder of them then. Alex's bottom lip dropped open a little as Jack got up, not knowing what to say and stormed down to his bedroom.
When he came back up the stairs, it was a couple hours later, and Alex had his duffle bags out on the couch, all packed and ready.
They were both dressed, Alex having put on a nicer dress shirt with his jeans. Jack’s hair was messy, having not really washed or brushed it since he woke other than a swipe through with his fingers.
"Hey, Jack," he said as the boy got his own things ready. "Remember to take my car and have it sent over and everything. I left the money for it in my account." He paused for a second, rummaging through the bag on the chair. "Oh, and here's the pin number for that and my parent's house number is below it."
Jack wasn't really listening, just leaning against the counter in the kitchen with a blank look on his face as Alex babbled.
He realized how tired he must have looked to Alex, but he was pretty sure that was from the rush of emotions he was pretending not to have - he'd held them in for days, what's one more?
"Okay, are you ready then?" Alex asked, finally looking up at him and relaxing into a more defeated pose. "Are you listening?"
"No," Jack admitted blankly, staring down at the tile. "I'm not listening to you."
"Why?" Alex asked, shifting his weight to one leg as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Because, I'm trying to pretend that this isn't happening, okay?!" he yelled into the quiet house, scaring his puppy a little as he finally looked up into Alex's eyes.
"I- I thought you were okay with this," Alex squeaked, adverting his eyes from Jack's angry ones.
"No, Alex, I'm not. And the fact that you are honestly hurts," Jack snapped, giving him a scowl.
Alex's face lifted, only to fall back into a frown. He didn't say anything for a second, shaking his head. "Jack, I don't know what you feel, but this can't happen right now, okay? This," he gestured back and fourth to himself and then Jack. "This can't happen. You're a student of mine."
Jack was scowling hard then, nostrils flaring wide as he felt his stomach skin. "You've been letting it happen for months, Alex. And now you're going to fucking tell me that you don't feel anything?"
Alex rolled his eyes a little, putting a frown with whatever he was about to say. "O-of course I do, and maybe that's why this is all happening."
"You honestly think that some higher power is making you leave because we're starting to have feelings for each other? How about you grow up!" Jack was irate to say the least, he was steaming angry, seeing a bit of a red tint in his vision as he screamed.
"That's not what I meant, fucker!" Alex yelled back. "God, you yell just like Oli."
That got Jack's fists clenching. "God damn it, you know I treat you a hundred times better than he does! He does this because he hates you, I do this because I love-"
Alex stopped then from where he was turning to stomp up the stairs, but he froze in his spot, only turning after a second to see if he had really heard what he thought he did. Jack looked just as shocked as he had that those words had come out, and he had to physically shut his jaw where it had fallen open.
"What?" Alex whispered into the silent room, taking a half step back down the stairs.
Jack shook his head, audibly gulping. "I didn't say that," he argued, though no one had accused him of anything.
Alex scowled, looking so worn as he made his way back down the stairs to pull Jack into the tightest embrace he could manage, a tear slipping down his cheek. He laid his chin on Jack's shoulder, closing his eyes for a second.
They just stayed like that for a little while, holding each other tight like a couple.
"I'm going to call a cab," Alex said as he pulled away and headed into the kitchen.
When Alex was out of the room, Jack did something he hadn't done since he was a child; he sat down on the couch and cried. Not sobbing like someone close just died, but cried like he left a few streaks of hot wet fall down his face, into the lines of his nose and past his quivering lips. Delilah had long since curled up next to him when Alex had come back into the living room from where he'd been watching in the kitchen.
"Jack," he whispered, voice cracking a little as he placed a hand on the boy's shoulder. "The cab's here."
Jack glanced out the window, finding and confirming the aforementioned object. He stood then, raising above Alex's height to pull him into an even tighter hug than before, physically lifting him off the ground a few inches.
He pulled away looking at the man's wet, red face and giving him the most forced smile he could manage before he pressed their lips together, soft and sweet, not needy like they were trying to hang on, but needy like they were trying to create something to remember for times to come when they missed each other.
Alex pulled away, sniffling as he gave Jack a sad, but equally forced smile.
"Bye, Jack," he whispered, grabbing both bags into his hands as he walked to the door way, opening it and turning. "Thank you."
Jack knew what he meant as he shut the door behind him, he didn't mean just thanks for giving him a place to stay, he meant so much more than that.
Their eyes locked as Alex got into the cab and stared out the window next to him and into the Barakat residence. As the taxi pulled away, then and only then, Jack allowed himself to sob.

It was times like these he was regretting his haste. He had walked out the front door, without a jacket, in February. It was freezing outside, absolutely bone chilling as he walked, clutching himself tight to try and conserve all the heat he could, but he felt himself freezing every time the wind even gusted a little.
“Fuck,” he cursed, shivering to the point that it was starting to throw off his steps. He didn’t know where he was going, and it was dark outside, the only light being the street lamps. He was lost, so he just turned around and headed home.
When he finally got there, having lost his way a little, he couldn’t feel his feet at all. It was like walking on pincushions. It took a minute or two of him bustling around the kitchen for his mother to appear behind him.
“Jack,” she whispered harshly. “It’s 1 am! Where have you been, I was worried sick.”
“Yeah,” was all that Jack answered with, rolling his eyes in the dull light coming from the night light over the kitchen sink.
“Jack,” she whispered again, softer this time, leaning in to hug him. He didn’t hug back right away. “Maybe we should talk, baby.”
Jack shook his head. “I don’t want to talk,” he insisted, breaking free of her grasp as he stepped back.
“Jack, we have to talk. What you did at dinner tonight was just plain childish,” she scolded, her son nodding after a second.
“I know.”
“Come sit on the couch with me,” she insisted, tugging Jack over and really not giving him a choice. He groaned a little, rolling his eyes and doing all he could to try and get her to let go without actually running.
“Mom, I don’t need a lecture,” he complained, but she wasn’t having it.
“Shut up, Jack,” she said sweetly, reaching forward and pushing back his bangs. “You need to listen to me.”
It took Jack a second to meet her dark brown, loving eyes, but when he did, he realized that this was his mother, and she’d never steered him wrong before, not once. So he just relaxed a little, listening to her.
“Jack,” she started again, frowning like she was almost hurting for him. “You’re not going to like what I have to say, but you have to let him go. He’s in serious danger right now.”
Jack shook his head back and forth like he didn’t want to listen, but she just kept talking.
“I’ve seen how you look at that boy,” she said, watching as Jack’s cheeks turned pink with either anger or embarrassment. Maybe a little of both. “Jack, I’ve never seen you look at someone like that before. Ever. I know you care about him, right?”
Jack didn’t respond, just nodded in confirmation.
“Then you have to let him go.”
Jack scowled at that. She gently patted his shoulder with the smallest smile on her lips. And with nothing else, she stood, heading for the stairs.
“Get some sleep,” she said before disappearing into her bed room.
Jack just sat there for a little while on the couch, a little dumbfounded, a little taken aback, but mostly just hurt.
He gazed up the stairs, considering dragging himself up to apologize to Alex for how he acted, but he let it go. He wasn't ready so he went to bed.
--
When Jack woke up the next morning, he got up before anyone else, tromping up the stairs and pausing on his way to the bathroom to glance into Alex's room.
He was laying across the bed, back to the door, shaking lightly like he was sobbing. Jack couldn't hear anything really, just little sniffles, and he considered going in and comforting him, he really did. But he just couldn't bring himself to forgive the man at all. He wanted Alex to feel bad for thinking about leaving him.
He rolled his eyes and went on with his morning routine.
Later at school, everything went normally. He talked to Rian and Kyle, made plans for the next weekend and went through the daily things like normal. English was awkward, because it was obvious that Alex was hurting, and it sucked for Jack.
About halfway through the hour, he started to notice some odd behaviours out of the man.
He watched as Alex would lift his sleeve subtly and dig into his arm. At first it looked like scratching to Jack, but after a few times, he realized that Alex was rubbing the spot raw, teeth clenched as he dug.
Jack cringed. He wasn't sure if the man either had poison ivy, or it was a nervous reaction to something Jack was causing. He guessed the latter.
Jack tried to get his attention, but it was pretty obvious that Alex wasn't paying attention to him, so that was that.
Jack took his time after school, making sure he had everything out of his locker before heading out to his car. Pretty much everyone had left the school when Jack started to pull out of the parking lot, stepping hard on the breaks when he saw him.
There was a man standing in the yard of the school, propped up against a tree. Dark red surrounded his eyes and mouth area, and Jack thought he looked legitimately scary. It was Oli.
It was obvious that he saw Jack, giving him a little smirk before turning himself around and walking off.
Jack's heart was pounding, so loud he could hear it in his ears; the thump thump of face heating, skin tightening, stomach dropping nervousness.
He pretty much slammed on the gas petal, trying to make it back to his house before anything happened, whether that meant blowing past stop signs and completely disregarding traffic or not - which apparently, it did.
Jack made it home five minutes after that, making quick work of what was usually ten to fifteen.
He slammed the front door open and shut, alarming the living shit out of his mother on the couch.
"Jack!" she yelped, confused and terrified that something was wrong. Jack disregarded her.
"Mom, where's Alex?" he asked sternly and Joyce's eyes popped open even wider.
"He hasn't come home yet."

It's not like they were dating; Jack would be the first to admit that. He was never one to really tie himself down anywhere, he enjoyed floating around from person to person, not really caring about "putting a ring on it" so to say.
That's why he liked Alex, his best friend since freshman year. Alex loved Jack, and vice-versa, but Jack loved that they both got sick of each other after a while and it was easy to take breaks with each other because it wasn't like they were married or even dating. Jack could tell Alex he was a cock-sucker, and Alex didn't get mad like his other girlfriends had, and Jack loved that.
Still, there wasn't a person on this Earth that Jack loved more, in every single way, so knowing that Alex was coming for Christmas break made his stomach flutter like a kid looking through a candy store window.
The first day, they'd just kind of gotten everything put away and pulled out the couch into a bed for Alex to sleep in since his flight was late and he'd gotten there around eleven.
He'd complained of being completely wiped so Jack just kind of left it at that, and by the time he was going into bed, Alex was out cold on the bed-sofa in front of the fire.
---
When he woke up the next morning, there was a fresh coat of snow on Baltimore's features. Alex was still completely zonked out, snoring lightly in the living room.
He sneaked through the house, making a fresh pot of coffee and pouring Alex a cup before tiptoeing his way to the living room. He sat next to Alex haphazardly, rubbing a gentle circle into his best friend's back, as he was laying on his stomach.
"Alex," he cooed, setting the man's cup of coffee down on the side table. "Lexy."
"Hmmph," Alex groaned into the pillow Jack had provided.
"Wakey wakey," Jack replied with a grin, poking a boney finger into Alex's side.
"No," Alex said simply, smiling after a second with his eyes still closed.
"Lex, it's already noon. We have shit to get done today," Jack demanded, swinging one leg over Alex's body, mounting himself on his back like Alex was a horse.
"Get off," Alex whined like a child, stretching his arms out.
"I did last night," Jack teased. "On your face. Now let's ride horsey!"
Jack decided it would be a good idea to grab two chunks of Alex's hair, thrusting on top of him in a "riding a horse kind of way".
"Jack," Alex laughed, out of breath due to Jack's weight on his back. "Quit it."
"Just once, Lex," Jack pleaded with a goofy grin. "Please."
Alex rolled his eyes before droning a, "Nay."

"Are those done yet?" Alex asked, leaning over Jack's shoulder to look into the pan of scrambled eggs on the stove. "I'm starved."
"Two minutes," Jack answered. "Wanna toast the bread?"
Alex nodded, pressing a little kiss to his best friends cheek. "Yeah. How'd you sleep?"
"Pretty good. I was pretty excited though," Jack replied, rubbing a spatula through the fluffy yellow eggs in his pan. "I know how you slept."
Alex giggled as he spread a pat of butter on the third slice of toast. "I was so fucking tired, Jacky," he admitted. "I didn't get a lot of sleep the night before."
"Oh yeah?" Jack prompted, switching the stove off and moving the eggs to one platter.
"Yeah," Alex continued. "I was kind of excited too."
His honey-colored eyes wandered over to his best friend sheepishly to realize that Jack was already staring at him back.
They didn't really need to say anything, they both knew what the other was thinking, so they enjoyed the moment of comfort.
-
"Well, I kind of like this one," Alex said, pointing to the tallest of the trees on the lot. Jack rolled his eyes.
"Lex, that won't even fit in my living room, much less through the door," Jack laughed, wrapping his arms around the slightly-shorter man's boyish hips.
"I guess," Alex answered, a little disappointed for obvious reasons.
"Besides, why do you have to have the biggest one?" Jack asked, pulling away from him to point at a smaller one, just a little taller than Jack's own height. "What's wrong with this one?"
"Nothing, I guess. But this one's bigger."
"Who give's a fuck?" Jack asked with a grin. "We're getting this one."
Jack had kind of knew better than to take Alex Christmas tree shopping; Alex wasn't the type to just pick a tree and let it go.
"This one?" the man asked, dressed up like a stereotypical Christmas tree farmer - or at least what Jack had expected, which pretty much was just a dirty lumberjack.
"Yeah, that one," Jack agreed, admiring it a bit more.
"I'll cut it down and you two can go back inside and help yourself to the coffee and cookies," the man directed with a genuine smile as raised the axe in his hands and struck the lower trunk of their tree.
Jack smiled and put his arm around Alex's shoulders, pulling him close as they trudged through the snow, back to the quaint little building.
There was another little couple in the corner of the building, obviously waiting for their tree as well, as they both flipped through older magazines than the present date.
"Hey, what do you think about sea foam green?" Alex asked quietly, as to not disturb the others in the small room. Jack quirked an eye brow as he poured himself and Alex a steaming cup of coffee.
"As the theme?" Jack questioned, stirring in some cream before handing the bottle to Alex.
"Yeah, like the color," the other answered. "It's different, and not really traditional like red and gold."
"Hey, remember when we were in Brazil and there was like...purple and silver everywhere for Christmas?" Jack asked. "Maybe we could do like...sea foam green and silver and teal!"
Alex nodded. "Yeah, I like that," he agreed, giving Jack a genuine smile that made his bright, honey eyes light up. Jack's heart did this pitter-patter thing that made his legs a little weak.
Alex didn't really seem to catch it, taking a sip of his hot coffee, enjoying the warmth on his face.
Jack eyed the pair of green mittens hanging out of Alex's black, fleece jacket pocket and gave him a little smile. He couldn't deny that it made him truly happy to see them again, considering Jack had actually given them to his best friend a few years back, along with the green scarf tucked around the man's neck.
Jack reached out and into Alex's pocket, Alex watching his hand along the way. He stroked his fingertips along the "bunny-fur" soft fabric.
Alex was going to say something, but the bell on the door was jingling, the owner coming back inside with his axe slung over his shoulder.
"Okay, guys," he said cheerily. "Your tree is all ready to go."
Jack nodded thankfully, meeting him at the front of the room where the register was at.
"How much do I owe you?" Jack asked.
"Well, that's 25 dollars and I hooked it up to the top of your ride for free," the man said, pushing a few buttons on his old-school register.
"Oh," Jack answered, a little surprised. "Well, thanks a lot."
He handed the man thirty and told him to keep the change before thanking him again and walking out.

When Alex woke up, it was Monday morning at an alarm clock. He glanced over at the retched thing, slapping at it until it shut up.
9:30, it read, and there was a little note taped to it.
“Let you sleep in, see you in English.
Jack."
Alex smiled at that, stretching out of bed. His hair had dried perfect, much to his surprise, and he made his way down the stairs with a yawn.
His morning routine went perfectly, having his cup of coffee and reading a section of the paper about a man who had won the world record for most dogs owned.
He laughed a little, and he figured that that’s how he’d end up. Him and Jack would end up owning like...five hundred dogs or something and-
Wait wait wait. Since when did he start including Jack into the picture of his future.
Jack was his student, not something permanent for him, but then again, he wasn’t sure about his future right then. Nothing was awfully permanent for him in that moment.
He pushed it out of his head and started off to school.
-
He glanced at the clock, finding that it was only about eleven so he stopped in to the coffee shop, figuring he’d treat himself to a peppermint hot chocolate in class.
As soon as he got to the counter, he was greeted. “Alex.”
His head snapped up at the familiar voice, his eyes having just been on the both where Jack and him had sat, the first time Alex had taken him here.
William was standing at the counter, rag in hand. He was dressed up in the uniform for the place, Alex noted, and he figured it looked nice on William, his chestnut hair resting again the cream colored shirt perfectly.
“Hey,” Alex said, eyes lighting up as he stared at the rather worried-looking barista. “I haven’t seen you in forever.”
“Yeah,” William agreed. “Can I make you something?”
Alex nodded. “I want a peperment white chocolate.”
“Hot?” William asked, ringing it into the register as Alex nodded.
Alex had known William for a long time, having met in college when Oli introduced the two. For a little while, William had had a thing for the teacher, flirting with him constantly. Oliver obviously had ended that soon after it started. He’d been best friends with Martin, ever since. Alex was actually pretty sure that they shared an apartment together.
“Here,” William said, snapping Alex away from his day dream as he handed the man his drink.
“So, how’ve you been?” Alex asked, sipping his hot chocolate casually, standing up at the front counter since there were no other customers, just staff bustling around, cleaning. “I didn’t know you worked here.”
“Alex,” William said, a little worried. “Martin said that Oliver’s looking for you.”
Alex’s brow furrowed at that, stomach dropping a little. He’d really hoped that the police had caught him by then, but he guessed not.
“Oh.”
“Alex, you shouldn’t be around here at all,” William advised, under his breath in a hush-hush tone. “What if he finds you.”
“I-” Alex started, trying to look unphased by what the lanky boy was suggesting. “I’ll call the cops.”
“I don’t think you’ll have time if he finds you,” William said, frowning heavily. It was a look that the boy had always worn, ever since Alex had known him. William had tried to change Martin, but could never really get close enough, so the most of the time Alex would see the boy, he’d look worried or on edge.
“I should be going,” Alex said, turning until William reached a small hand out, placing it on Alex’s shoulder, almost spilling the drink in his hand.
“Alex, please take my advice and get out of here,” William said, giving him a really raw look, a really raw and real look, but Alex didn’t stick around to see it, just hustled as fast as he could back to his car. With shaky hands, he was able to get it started.
--
Jack walked into English, a little earlier than usual, and Alex was already there, on the phone and talking in a quieted voice. He merely lifted his eyes to see Jack’s presence before saying a goodbye and hanging up.
“What was that about?” Jack asked, honestly curious, but Alex just gave him a blank look, and an equally blank.
“I’ll tell you later.”
Class went by like that, Alex having the students work on their homework for the next day while he just shuffled around at his desk, helping the occasional kid when they’d come up to him, but that was about it.
It wasn’t until after class that Jack confronted him. All the kids had made their way out, but Jack stayed behind.
“Lex,” he said, but the only response that he got was lifted eyes again, dark eyes through a caramel fringe. “Lex, what’s wrong?”
Alex bit down on his bottom lip, standing and walking over to where Jack was seated.
“I’ll tell you when I get home, but you have to go now.”
Jack just nodded, finding the urgency in his words and doing what he said.
-
Jack waited for him at home, sitting on the couch in near silence as he stroked Delilah’s fur.
His hear started beating faster when the door opened, but he relaxed again to see it was his mom. They chattered a bit, but only long enough to say “hey, how’s your day, I’m waiting for Alex, okay”.
Another twenty minutes passed of nothing for noise but Joyce working on dinner in the kitchen, water running occasionally. Finally, at six-thirty-one, Alex opened the door, letting himself in and the pressing his back against it like he was exhausted. Jack stood instantly, walking over to him, exciting Delilah in the process to the point where she barked a little.
“Hush,” he said to her, and she just went a laid down.
“Jack,” Alex started with a forced smile.
“What’s going on?” Jack asked, tugging Alex’s jacket off and hanging it on the coat rack, doing the same with the wet beanie on Alex’s hair.
“A lot,” Alex said. He looked like a mess, tired and glistening with sweat as he struggled for breath. Jack helped him over to the couch, and finally Alex relaxed.
“Tell me,” Jack insisted, running his finger tips gently through Alex’s hair. “Please.”
Alex nodded. “I saw a friend today at the coffee shop,” he paused, only speaking again when Jack gestured him to go on with his eyes. “He told me that Oli was looking for me.”
Jack scowled at that, maybe at the name, maybe at the news, but either way, it disgusted him. “Uh- huh?”
“That’s what I said,” Alex answered, meeting Jack’s eyes finally. “Like it didn’t really matter but then I saw Oli. I saw him on my way to school.”
“Oh my God,” Jack said, ghosting his thumb over Alex’s cheek bone. “Did he see you?”
“I don’t think so,” Alex said, nibbling into his lip for a second. “But he looked bad.”
“Bad how?”
“Bad like he’d been sober for days and he was going through withdrawals,” Alex answered then, and Jack could see that he was close to tears. He leaned in then, pulling Alex close to his chest. “Jack,” Alex whimpered.
“It’s okay,” he cooed back, pressing the smallest kiss to the man’s forehead. “I’m right here.”
“I’m scared, Jack,” Alex admitted, wrapping his arms around his boy in an equally tight embrace. Joyce was standing, looking on from the kitchen with a worried expression like she’d hear the whole conversation.
“I know, Lex,” Jack soothed. “I know, but we’ll get it figured out.”
They didn’t move from that position for a while, maybe a couple minutes, maybe an hour. Jack had guessed it was closer to an hour since when they finally let go, it was because dinner was ready and on the table.
They all sat down, but nothing felt right this time. No matter how they all sat, something felt wrong, tensing almost. The food was good, but it Jack couldn’t taste it, and he guesses by the look of a near disgust on the man’s face, Alex couldn’t either.
“Okay,” Joyce said, finally breaking the silence once it got painfully awkward. “What are you going to do?”
Of course she knew everything, she always did, but that didn’t stop Jack from giving her a look of disbelief.
“I don’t know,” Alex admitted, trying to hold himself together as he set down his fork, a scoop of sweet potatoes still on it.
“Have you considered leaving?” she asked, and Jack looked over at her like she was crazy.
“Yeah,” Alex answered after a second of thinking about whether it was okay to tell or not.
Jack’s eyes moved to him with the same expression as the one he gave to his mom, sitting back in his chair and crossing his arms over his chest.
“I talked to my parents today and they want me to stay with them,” Alex finished. Jack’s bottom lip dropping open a little as Alex just stared at the pile of peas on his plate like they were the most interesting and uninteresting thing in the world at the same time.
“What?” Jack said then, the other two at the table looking up at him then. “Where are they?”
Alex paused, frowning a lot as he finally met the boys eyes. He didn’t talk again until he could see the boy getting impatient for the information.
“England,” he answered, ashamed to no end as it sounded, and Jack’s jaw dropped even more.
“What?!” he repeated. “You can’t just g- You can’t just get up and go!”
Alex adverted his eyes. He’d been holding the information from Jack because he’d known that there would be an argument of monumental size.
“Jack,” Joyce said, trying to reason with the boy as he pouted like a child, glaring down the table at Alex.
“He’s not really going, right?” Jack asked, gaining Alex’s attention again and meeting his hurt gaze. “You’re not really considering this, right?”
Alex took a minute before he shrugged.
“Now, Jack,” Joyce interrupted. “It’s his choice. If he’s really in danger, I think he should go.”
“What?!” Jack exclaimed, pushing his chair out from under him as he stood in a swift motion. “Mom, you can’t just let him go! What about his job, and his....other things?” Jack finished, not really being able to think of anything else until a couple seconds later when they boys met eyes again.
“What about me?” Jack said in a pleading voice, more of a statement than a question. Sure, he was pissed too, but more than anything he was hurt beyond belief.
Alex frowned then at that, more so than he had before. “I don’t know what I’m doing yet, Jack.”
“I do,” Jack said, pretty much towering over the both of them as they sat. “You’re going to go and just leave me here to rot in this fucking place.”
“Jack!” his mother scolded, but he didn’t give her any more time to talk before he was storming off out the front door.

An entire week and a half had passed, one hundred percent smoothly. Well, other than that Jack’s lips was pretty sure that he was having withdrawals.
From what?
Alex.
Sure, they were spending day after day together, but there wasn’t a mere minute where they could be alone. Nearly every second was monitored either by the school itself or by Jack’s mom.
Every once in a while the boys would share a look. Not just a look, but a gaze. Sometimes Jack would turn and catch Alex looking at - no - sizing up his ass. He could see the man’s mind working, measuring the amount of time it took to undress Jack and how long they had before they were in company. It was never enough time apparently, because he had yet to be jumped and fucked.
Finally, it happened when both boys were spread out on the couch, fighting for the more of the space when Joyce announced that she was leaving for work and Mrs. Cook wasn’t able to be in that day.
“Behave yourselves,” she said with a knowing smile before shutting the door.
Jack sat still, watching as her car pulled out of the drive way before both boys shared another “Look”.
Alex bit his bottom lip.
“Are we alone?” he asked, leaning in a little and Jack did the same, nodding a little.
“Yep.”
Alex paused, dark eyes flicking to the upstairs. “Wanna take a shower?”
“Yep.”
It didn’t take more than a second for Alex to wrap his arms around Jack’s neck, leaning in and pressing their lips together. They stood, kissing all the way up the stairs, Jack stumbling a few times because he was going backwards with a boner.
When they finally got to the bathroom, Jack picked up Alex, eliciting a little squeak from him as he set the man on the edge of the sink.
Alex started to undress slowly, keeping Jack’s eyes as he pulled off his shirt. After a second, the younger boy opened the glass door, flipping on the shower and turning the nozzle until the water shot on.
When Jack looked back, Alex was completely naked, his hands reaching for Jack’s, deep red, shirt. Staring into Jack’s eyes. Alex smirked, getting down on his knees as he unbuttoned Jack’s pants, tugging them down.
Jack snaked his hands downward, tugging up Alex by his hair. Alex let out a little ‘unf’, but it was in vain, Jack pressing their lips together tight so the man’s tiny moan landed in Jack’s mouth.
Jack pulled him into the shower, Alex to the nozzle so he was the first to get soaked. Jack took a second to pull back, just to look at him, and he instantly got chills.
Alex’s hair was starting to drip, the water trickling off the strands and down his collarbones.
Jack licked his lips absentmindedly and Alex laughed, biting his bottom lip in a teasing, sexy gesture.
“What’s wrong?” he asked huskily, reaching forward and twirling his fingers through Jack’s raven hair.
“Absolutely nothing,” Jack answered. “You just look really hot like that.”
“Really?” Alex asked innocently, sliding down the wall behind him into a kneeling position, his face to Jack’s crotch. “How do I look now?”
Jack gulped a little, taking a moment to remember who he was. “Like a whore.”
Alex laughed a little, rolling his eyes at that before leaning forward and mouthing Jack’s cock, placing both hands on the boy’s hips.
Jack let out an animalistic growl then, placing a hand on the shower wall behind Alex and leaning into it. The water started to hit the top of his head, seeping down his scalp and giving him another round of chills.
Alex sucked on the top of Jack’s dick like a pro, lapping the flat of his tongue against it. Jack let out a moan at that, tightening his grip in Alex’s hair until he heard Alex squeak.
“Not so hard,” Alex laughed with a smirk, ducking down so he could take one of Jack balls into his mouth, sucking it and rolling it between the roof of his mouth and the whole of his tongue. Jack pulled in a breath of air, it hissing past his teeth, and he let it back out with a long, low moan, using his hand to press Alex tighter against him.
“Mm, Lex,” he drawled, eyes rolling back in his head.
Alex took that as a good sign, popping Jack’s ball out of his mouth and replacing it with the entirety of Jack’s cock. He took it down, down until it hit the back of his throat, and even then he pushed it farther.
“Ah!” Jack yelped, letting out a shaky breath. “Fuck.”
Alex pulled Jack’s cock back out with no trouble either, laughing at the look on the boy’s face.
“Where did you learn to do that?” Jack choked once he could get enough breath in his lungs.
“You don’t want to know,” Alex assured, standing and pressing the boy against the back of the shower.
Jack laughed at that, leaning in and sucking gently on the soft, supple skin on Alex’s neck. Alex licked his lips, tilting his head back and pulling in a jagged breath.
“Hey,” Jack spoke against Alex’s throat. “You know what?”
“Hm?” was all Alex could manage as Jack worked a hand down the man’s body.
“I can leave marks now,” Jack answered, nipping suddenly at Alex’s skin. The man yelped. “You know why?”
“W-why?” Alex asked, stuttering as Jack bit down again.
“Because you’re not his anymore,” Jack said simply. But what he said next had Alex stopping in his tracks. It wasn’t what he said, really, though that was certainly hot. It was how he said it; so animalistic, it was almost a growl - a snarl. “You’re mine, now.”
Alex opened his mouth, letting out a moan, a grin spreading across his lips as the water hit his back.
“Fuck me,” he pleaded back, wrapping his hands around Jack’s neck and pressing his thumbs against Jack’s throat until Jack gasped a little.
Jack raised his top lip, showing Alex all of his teeth, breathing into Alex’s face, hot and heavy.
Alex almost lost it there with how attractive the boy looked, wet and dripping as Jack dropped his hands to Alex’s hips and pressing his fingers into the, paper-thin, skin there.
Alex whined a little, reaching behind him to flip the shower off. He “slipped” a little, pressing his ass against Jack’s hard cock like a needy whore and they both let out pleasured noises.
“Jack,” Alex whined.
“On your knees," Jack demanded and Alex did as he was told, dropping onto his hands and knees like a dog as Jack grabbed a bottle of conditioner, dropping into a similar position.
“Lick me,” the bottom pleaded and Jack quirked an eyebrow. The thought made him cringe a little, but it only took him a second to realize that he’d already crossed about a million lines that day, what was one more?
Jack bent down then, spreading Alex’s cheeks a little before lapping his tongue against the man’s asshole. Alex moaned, like he hadn’t been expecting Jack to go through with it - a moan of surprise.
“F-fuck,” he choked, the tip of Jack’s tongue circling the ring of muscle lightly.
Once he’d started, Jack was kind of liking it, getting a little into it as his tongue repeatedly flicked over the spot, trying to wet the area as much as he could.
Alex was making these little kitten whimpers, these little afirmative noises that was doing his job.
“Uh-okay!” Alex whined. “Stop. I won’t last.”
Jack pulled back then, laughing as he grabbed the bottle of hair conditioner.
Alex looked back at him, quirking a think eyebrow. “Really, Jack? Conditioner?”
“Hey,” Jack scolded, squirting some into the palm of his hand. “It’s all I have. And on the upside, your asshole is going to be so soft.”
Alex didn’t have time to laugh before the boy was slipping two fingers into him, working them in and out quickly. He only allowed Alex about a minute to adjust before slipping another past the ring of muscle, pushing them in and out until Alex was moaning like a cheap slut.
“Jack, stop,” he commanded. “Fuck me, fuck me.”
“Y-yeah,” Jack agreed, pulling his fingers out quickly and starting to stroke his cock through the pile of conditioner in his palm.
“Mm, baby. Hurry,” Alex said, laying his wet head down on the (alligator shaped) shower mat. Before he could say any more, Jack was shoving into him, not stopping until his cock was buried to the hilt inside of Alex’s ass.
Alex let out a long moan into the shower floor, water dripping down his nose from his hair and then down the drain.
Jack couldn’t wait for Alex to adjust to the pain, couldn’t stop himself from thrusting his hips forward. Alex’s breath was hitching in his throat, like something was clogging any air from escaping his soft, swollen lips.
They were moving, pushing together, but Jack couldn’t seem to get the friction he loved, craved due to the wetness on their skin.
After a while though, the water started to dry up, Jack working his cock into Alex’s ass, and if you had been a viewer (I know you wish you were), you’d swear Jack had been fucking guys for the entirety of his love life, not just his second time.
Alex was whining, whimpering, and begging Jack to go deeper, harder, and every time, Jack would thrust forward unusually hard, mashing Alex’s face into the bottom of the tub with force.
It didn’t take long before Alex was coming into the shower mat, Jack following suit when Alex’s muscles tightened around his hard cock.
They were left a panting mess as Jack pulled out.
Alex didn’t move from his position as Jack stood, pulling a towel around his waist and fastening it at the hip, he just laid there like he was too weak to move, panting.
“C’mere,” Jack said gently, leaning down with another towel, picking Alex up and letting him wrap his arms around Jack’s neck.
As soft as he could manage, he started to dry the man, wiping off exess water from his body with care before toweling off Alex’s hair.
“Okay,” Jack cooed. “Get dressed.” Despite what he was saying, he clutched Alex tighter, and it didn’t take long for Jack to figure out that the man was near sleeping, eyes only a quarter of the way open.
“Hm?” the man hummed in question, clutching tighter to his boy like if he let go, he’d hurt himself.
“Are you going to get dressed?” Jack asked, picking up the pile of Alex’s clothes from the bathroom floor.
“No,” Alex protested like a child, winding his finger’s in Jack’s soft hair. “Carry me.”
Jack rolled his eyes, picking the man up with the support of the sink, and carried him into the next room, the spare room that Alex had been inhabiting. He laid the naked man down onto his bed, picking up Alex’s legs one at a time as he slipped on Alex’s briefs.
He noted that the man’s knees were an angry red from where he’d been kneeling on the alligator shower mat, as Jack pulled the covers over him, tucking him in like a burrito. Alex squiggled his way up so that his head was on the pillows, snuggling in with a soft smile.
Jack gave him a smile back, knowing that Alex couldn’t see it as he stood at the top of the stairs. It struck him then, the perfect idea.
“Delilah!” he whispered, and she heard him from her spot on the couch, ears perking as she jumped off, running up and sitting at his feet. He bent over, praising her and picking her up before walking back into the spare room and setting her next to Alex on the bed. He left the two to snuggle as he made his way back down the stairs.

Summary: "Do you remember that one time..."
Jack eyed his best friend, sitting across from him on the couch - the one he'd deemed his on the first day of that tour - with a magazine across his lap.
"Jack, did you read this review of us?" he asked, not lifting his chocolate eyes from the page. Jack shook his head even though Alex wasn't looking.
"Nope," Jack answered, he turned to open the bus curtain a little, peeking out only to be greeted by a few girls that were still waiting behind the red velvet rope. He kind of couldn't believe that they were willing to sit outside in 20 degree weather after they'd already done the show and meet and greet. Jack kind of felt horrible for them, but he was pretty sure him and Alex had both done pictures with the most of the ones left, so it eased his guilt a bit.
"We should have Rian and Zack read this when they get back," Alex said, haphazardly throwing the magazine onto the coffee table in front of him before finally looking up. He folded his arms over his sweatshirt-clad chest to keep warm as he waited for Jack to respond.
But when Jack did respond, it wasn't with what Alex had imagined.
He was still looking out the window and the street light shinned in against his white teeth when he spoke. "Remember that time when we were sixteen and we made out in Zack's food pantry?"
Alex blinked a few times before the tops of his cheeks blushed a shade darker. He raised a thick, dark eyebrow as he lifted a hand through his dyed auburn hair. "That's not something I'd forget," he said, offering his best friend a half smile.
Jack stood then, making his way over to where Alex was sitting and placed himself on the coffee table. He faced his best friend, biting his bottom lip.
He stayed quiet for a minute, just staring into Alex's eyes.
"How long are we going to keep doing this?" he asked, and Alex instantly furrowed his brow line; pretending like he didn't know what Jack was talking about. Jack wasn't buying it.
"Doing what?" Alex asked, adverting his eyes so he didn't have to see Jack roll his own.
"Don't even go there," Jack scolded, reaching a hand out to grip Alex's chin between his thumb and his forefinger.
Alex scowled at him childishly, folding his arms over his chest. Jack leaned into him, their lips almost touching. He could feel Jack’s warm breath against his face and it made him melt into the leather of the couch a little bit. He pressed forward, eyes lidding as Jack spoke.
“Are you still crazy for me?” Jack breathed. Alex noted that his voice smelled like chocolate from the Halloween candy he’d been eating.
Alex bit his lip, nodding, just the slightest movement.
“Can you say it for me?” Jack asked, leaning in and just ghosting their lips together.
“I’m still crazy for you, Jack,” Alex admitted, running his hands through Jack’s dark locks.
“Mm,” Jack hummed, leaning in and lapping his tongue on the underside of Alex’s jaw line gingerly. The elder shivered instinctively as Jack reached that indented, tender spot just below his ear.
“Jack,” Alex whispered and, in response, the mentioned boy leaned into him more until Alex had to lay back on couch.
Their heads snapped up as they heard a commotion just outside the door of their bus, and they shared a quick look.
“Get the lights,” Jack said, shooting up from where he was kneeling on the floor. Alex did as he was told, flipping the lights just as the door to the bus was unlocking.
“In,” the younger whispered, pushing his best friend into the bunk next to him before crawling into his own. Alex tried to pretend nothing was going on as people filled their surroundings. Seconds later, the curtain was flying open next to him, someone leaning down on their knees to look in.
Alex squinted like his eyes weren’t used to the light - he was a pretty good actor by now.
“Are you in bed already?” Tiffany asked, giggling a little as Alex rolled away from her a bit.
“Uh, yeah, babe. Hense me...in bed,” he answered, rolling his eyes. She smelled like alcohol from the bars they’d been at and he had very little tolerance for her when she was like that; she got just plain annoying. He couldn’t understand how she managed to pack away all that alcohol; she could even impress Rian, and Rian could out-drink just about anyone Alex knew.
“No need to be a cock, Lex,” she said, faking hurt as she whipped her top off, right there in the isle for everyone to see. She obviously wasn’t thinking, but it made Alex upset anyway.
He groaned, pulling her closer as he tried to pull her shirt back on. “What the fuck are you doing? Get in here.”
She laughed as he tugged her into the bunk, purely because he could see a wasted Zack in the adjacent bunk to him, grimacing at the sight.
Jack sneered, disgusted as well as he peeked out the split between his curtain and the bunk, witnessing what had just gone on between them. He made a noise of discontentment, rolling over in his bunk when all the lights on the bus flipped off.
He laid awake all that night, listening to the sound of Rian snoring. Then entire bus - he was sure - smelled like death, which was really just stale alcohol and sweat.
“Jack.”
Jack’s eyes shot open, glancing around. He was sure no one was awake, but he could have sworn he’d just heard someone call him under their breath.
“Jack,” the voice came again, and Jack pulled back his curtain, peeking out into the isle. He jumped as Alex’s face was right there - seriously right there in front of his, causing him to hit his head on the ceiling of his bunk.
“Oh, sorry!” Alex whispered quickly.
“Ow,” he whined as Alex reached a hand out to rub the spot, chuckling a little. “Fuck, Lex.”
“Sorry,” Alex said under his breath, giving Jack that little half smile. “Can I come in?”
"Hurry," Jack demanded, pulled Alex in head first and shutting the curtain as fast as he could.
Alex was giggling profusely as he tried to resituate himself, lying completely wrong and cramped in the small space. Once he was able to manoeuvre himself to actually being comfortable, he snuggled into Jack's warm side.
"Sorry about earlier," Alex whispered, looking up at his best friend.
Jack gave him a little shrug, actually a little angry with Alex. He knew it wasn't the elder's fault that his girlfriend was stupid as hell. He still couldn't understand why Alex would stay with her.
"Jack," Alex groaned, sliding his hand into Jack's dark hair. "Don't be like that."
"Shut up, Alex," Jack snapped quietly, rolling his eyes with his words. "I'm not being like anything."
"Yeah, you are. You're being a dick," Alex retorted with a pouty bottom lip.
Jack scooted up in his bunk the best he could. "Do you really think its okay to just let her sleep in your bunk and you come over here and cuddle like you're with me?"
"Let's not do this tonight," argued Alex in a softer voice. "Let's just enjoy this."
Half of the raven haired boy wanted to yell at him, get up and storm off, but the other half really just wanted that warm, wet set of lips on his again, so he went with the latter.
He allowed Alex to press an open mouth kiss against him, hot and dirty. He wasn't about to waste time, because they knew better than anyone how little they always had. It was only about a half an hour until Tiffany got cold and went looking for Alex.
Jack pushed it out of his head and pulled Alex on top of him, situating hips perfectly before meshing their lips together again. Alex hummed in affirmation into Jack's open lips as he worked his tongue past the boy's rows of teeth.
"Hurry," Alex giggled into his mouth as Jack fumbled his fingers to fit under the band of Alex's sweats, pushing them down with the elder's briefs. Jack cupped his bare ass cheeks in both hands causing Alex to laugh harder.
"Shh," Jack hushed, laughing under his breath himself. "We don't want to get caught."
Alex pursed his lips together; man handling the front of Jack's boxers and feeling his hard-on just under the fabric between them.
"Get these off," Jack whispered, pushing Alex's bottoms off as far as he could until his finger tips couldn't grasp it anymore. Alex complied, twisting awkwardly as he made these uncomfortable grunting noises until he got the bottoms down to his knees, then was able to kick them off the rest of the way.
Jack was instantly attaching his lips to Alex's neck, sucking and nipping like it was going out of style. Letting out these little mewls, Alex decided it was time to work a hand between Jack's boxers, getting a tight hand around his best friend's cock.
Jack's deep brown eyes flared, biting down and accidentally drawing blood onto Alex's neck. He apologized, but the elder didn't really seem to care at all, didn't really feel it. But Jack could feel Alex's cock on his leg, could feel it growing harder as seconds ticked on and it was like fuel for him. There wasn't much he loved more than turning Alex on, and they both knew that he could like no other person on the face of the Earth.
"Ride me," Jack purred, working Alex's ass cheeks in the palms of his hands. Alex licked his lips involuntarily, nodding at the idea.
He reached behind Jack's head and into the corner of the bunk where he knew Jack kept a little bottle of lubricant and dropped it on his chest.
Jack stared at it. "How did you know that..." he trailed off before Alex answered.
"I watched you once," he replied, opening the bottle himself when he realized Jack wasn't paying attention to the bottle.
"Weird, Lex," Jack laughed huffily. "You watched me masturbate?"
"Shh," Alex hushed, rolling his eyes as he squirted a drop of the blue liquid into his hand before reaching down and taking Jack's cock into his palm.
"Like that?" he asked, sliding the length through his fist like a fucking champ as Jack bit down on his bottom lip to hold back a moan.
"Mhm," Jack answered, spitting on his fingers and sliding one into Alex's ass without warning, causing the mentioned boy to choke a little on his cockiness.
His pretty, perfect face twisted up in a look of pain, his pink bottom lip popping open like he wanted to let out a moan like he never had, but Jack shook his head.
"Uh, uh-uh. Don't do it," Jack warned with a teasing smile as he worked his finger in and out of Alex's ass, gently forcing in a second when he knew Alex had himself under control.
"Just go, Jack. I can't take it," he pleaded, pushing himself down onto Jack's fingers with a pained look.
"I think you need another finger," Jack argued teasingly.
"No," Alex whined. "Just, c'mon."
Jack rolled his eyes. "Okay, pushy."
"We don't have time to stretch, Jack," Alex retorted, rolling his eyes as he reached back and took Jack's cock in his hand, sitting himself onto it. He tried to relax at the head pushed past the muscles, tightening inside of him.
Alex bit back a painful growl, but he rolled his eyes when he looked back down as a euphoric Jack.
"Well, I'm glad someone's enjoying it," Alex spat, grinding his teeth together in pain.
"God, " Jack laughed dryly. "You're like a fucking hormonal bitch, Lex; you're the one that wouldn't let me stretch you."
"Shut up," Alex whined, receiving a bit of a glare from his best friend.
"You're lucky," Jack started, putting his hands on top of Alex's shoulders, pushing down the rest of the way until his ass cheeks hit Jack's crotch. "That I love you, because you're a bitch."
Alex was making this face, like one a deer would make just before it got hit by an unexpected car; wide-eyed and horrified as pain kind of ripped through his body. He kind of crumpled onto Jack, laying over him, huffing like he just couldn't get enough air.
"Ow, Jack," he squeaked as he bit his bottom lip, his honey eyes welling up with tears.
"I know, baby. It's been a while," Jack whispered, rubbing gentle circles into the back of Alex back. They did this every time they had sex, ever since they first started. Alex had figured out that he couldn't bring himself to put all of his weight onto his lower half at that point, so Jack always helped him. The thing was that when they fucked, it was once every couple months, and Alex could never fully get used to the feeling of it all.
"Move, Jack," Alex whispered, clutching tight onto Jack's tee-shirt. "Please."
Jack nodded, gently pushing his hips up until he reached all the farther he could go. Slowly, aside the whimpering, Jack could feel Alex becoming more relaxed on top of him, and soon enough the elder was doing this movement - this rocking of his hips back to meet Jack's slow, gentle thrusts.
Alex hummed gently, and Jack could feel the patch of wet on his shirt where Alex was drooling a little.
Jack pursed his lips together, rolling his lower half up as he forced himself into the vice grip of Alex's muscles, over and over.
Alex tried to pick himself up, placing both hands on Jack's chest as he rolled himself back in a slow rhythmic pattern. It wasn't the kind of quick and hurried sex that they were used to; it was softer and sweeter, like they were trying to discover more than just finish.
"Lex," Jack hummed, laying his head back on the pillow and letting it squish in to the soft material. "That's good."
Alex nodded, completely understanding the feeling as he rocked himself back a little harder, feeling Jack's hard cock slide in and out. It's not like the other times where Jack would just kind of rail him, hitting his spot over and over and they were cumming within minutes, no, it was more of a teasing brush against his prostate and Alex was literally wiping the drool off of his mouth.
Jack was gritting his teeth hard like he couldn't take it. He could feel that either searing hot or freezing cold - never could tell - bubbling in his gut; that feeling of his inwards twisting maliciously in the most sickening and comforting way at the same time.
"Lex," he warned under his breath, keeping his eyes shut tight.
Alex must have predicted what Jack was going to say because he replied, "I know, me too, Jack."
Jack bit his bottom lip, rolling his head back as far as the bunk would allow him as he grabbed for Alex's cock between them, pumping it slow yet tight through his fist, squeezing tight on the head like he knew Alex liked.
Alex started letting out these little mewls, licking his lips as his honey-colored eyes rolled back in his head.
Jack kind of felt the same way, leaning as far up as he could without having Alex's head hit the top of the bunk to attach his mouth to Alex's neck.
Alex let out this surprised yet uncaring moan, because he was on the fucking edge, teetering on the cliff of sanity and complete oblivion.
"Take me, Jack," he mumbled as he let himself collapse back onto his best friend, his lips coming to meet Jack's in a messy kiss. Jack complied, taking both of his hands - one from Alex's cock - and placed them on Alex's ass, pushing it as far down as it would go.
Alex's eyes popped open, letting out a louder moan as the head of Jack's cock rammed into his prostate, pushing both of them into orgasm.
"Ah, fuck!" Jack squeaked, squeezing Alex's ass cheeks in his hands, getting Alex's muscles to tense tighter.
"Jack," his best friend gasped, pressing a tight, perfect kiss to Jack's lips as they started to come down together.
"Baby," Jack whispered, working a hand through his best friend's hair in comfort.
Alex hummed, kissing him gingerly just as the lights turned on in the bus. Alex gasped, eyes popping open.
"Fuck," he whispered, as the bunk curtain flew open, Zack peering in.
"Hey, guys. You wanna finish up here?" Zack groaned. Both boys staring, wide-eyed at him. Jack and Alex shared a quick look.
"Some of us like to get sleep at night."
